Private dictation,
for developers.

You talk faster than you type, but you won’t paste your work into a cloud you can’t see. Rede transcribes on your Mac, the audio never leaves it, and we describe exactly what leaves your Mac, and what doesn’t.

Built for the way you actually work.

What leaves your Mac, precisely.

Your audio is transcribed entirely on-device with a local speech engine. There is no upload step, because there is no audio server.

The only thing that can leave is the text, and only if you turn on cloud cleanup, the best-quality polish. Rede uses Google’s paid Gemini service, where prompts and responses are not used to improve Google products. Want zero cloud? Bring your own model key, or use the basic on-device cleanup, entirely on your machine.

We don’t claim “100% private.” That would be a lie the moment you use cloud cleanup. Instead, we document exactly what happens to your data at /local, so you can decide based on what we describe, not just what we claim.
